Tinker Inter-Tribal Council Pow Wow
Thousands gather in peace and harmony to honor the Veteran Warriors from Oklahoma's Native American tribes. Free and open to the public, this event is a great opportunity for your family to experience this vibrant and fascinating culture as the tribal members congregate to show support for one another as well as display traditional wares and dance. Juneteenth
On Saturday, June 21 the City of Luther will celebrate Juneteenth by hosting a parade at 2pm in the downtown area. A picnic will follow the parade and will be held at the Booker T. Washington High School Memorial Community Park. The Park was dedicated on Sunday, October 25, 1998.
This year's Juneteenth Celebration is co-sponsored by the Booker T. Washington High School Alumni and the Luther Area Wide NAACP.
The first Juneteenth Celebration was held in Galveston, TX on June 19, 1865 following the Emanicpation Proclomation of January 1, 1863 which abolished slavery in the United States. |

Holiday Lights Spectacular
This holiday season, magical fun takes center stage as Joe B. Barnes Regional Park is transformed into a twinkling winter wonderland with over one million lights featuring 80 dazzling displays, including the majestic 118-foot Christmas tree illuminated with 9,000 bulbs. From I-40, exit Douglas Blvd. and follow the snowflakes to wind through the South's largest animated light collection. You can even enjoy the lights from a horse drawn carriage ride!
